Phone cable from mdf to unit in cronulla 2230

Recently moved in and tried to connect the existing phone line recieved no signal, had a tpg technician come check the mdf and my phone connection inside the unit he sent signals on both the main and back-up line on the phone socket inside and said they weren't being recieved at the mdf, which is most likely due to the recent renovations done before we moved in *new carpet* that the cables have been cut. The unit is on the first floor with the mdf located next to the unit inside the common area, I would like to know roughly how much I would be looking at to either repair or replace the line.
