I live next door to my mother, and am looking to run a standard cat5e cable from one point at the back of my home, along my back verandah, under the eaves of my mother's home, into the roof, and run to a point in the back study of mum's house. The point can be fitted anywhere in the back of my place, as it is going to be demolished within a year. As such the cable is only a temporary measure to share an internet connection into mum's house. All that I need is a simple point in the back of my house, and one point fitted in the study of mum's. I can't see more than 40 metres of cable would be needed.
