  Seeking to have my fire-damaged home repaired, damaged in October 2017.

My insurance appointed builder's, who then subsequently had their own draftsman prepare drawings. However, the builders also appointed their own chosen building surveyor only by forging my signature. When this was brought to the attention of the insurance the original builders were removed.

I then endeavoured to cancel the permit through the VBA and obtain my own permit. However, the insurance did not want me using another draftsman for the drawings and the same drawings from the original builder were supplied in order for the permit to be obtained.

The new builder's commenced works in 2019, yet due to further issues, works ceased.

I have since had a new Scope prepared, and it was necessary to have the permit amended. This is because further damages were noted at the property which meant that the contract price increased by roughly $100,000.

Although the changes are not structural in nature, the surveyor wishes to have these aspects further elaborated, even if it be only as a schedule indicating what the nature of the changes are.

Some of the changes that are different to the previous Scope include the following:

The major changes that are to taking place are the inclusion of wall insulation in which the Surveyor has requested an Energy Efficiency Measure due to this, as well as the ceiling insulation is to have an R-value of 5.0. Can you have these aspects/included on your drawings.

Other changes that are to take place include:

- Plasterboards (entire property)

- Wall insulation (entire property)

- Replacement of KD HW Skirting/Architraves (entire property)

- Replacement of Entire Kitchen

- Replacement of Entire Bathroom

- As the property was subjected to ingress of water for 19 months this has created issues with mould, therefore mould remediation as secondary damage to the property will ensue including replacement of ductwork

- Replacement of kitchen floorboards

- Changeover of entire electrical cabling including light switches and GPO's

- Replacement of doors at property.
