James requested 3 quotes from Carpenters in Preston West
Installation of stainless steel wire balustrade above a timber retaining wall to separate a raised courtyard area from a lower level tiled area.
Area is in x3 lengths, i.e. 1700mm wide (timber fence to leg of deck above), 1900mm wide (between x2 legs of deck above) and 1700mm (from leg of deck above to other fence).
Unsure of requirements for total height of fencing and spacing between each run of wire but must be in accordance with relevant code. Relying on expertise of tradesperson to advise.
Other question: Can the wire be run from fence-to-fence (total length 5300mm) through the x2 legs of the deck to avoid having to install extra eye bolts or rigging screws on the legs of the deck?
Some type of timber member will be required at both fences to secure eyebolts. Assuming with the tension fixing direct to the fence is not a good idea.
Will post photo to assist with understanding.
Thanks
