Extend privacy screen

We have a privacy screen (ground-floor front courtyard). It's wooden slats on wooden posts). We need two things:
1) Extend posts by 35cm
We do NOT want to remove the existing posts, they are cemented-in. We'd like to screw-on or bolt on an extension to each post and match the wooden slats.
2) Make one of the existing posts removable or create a double-door gate. We'll take your advice.
You can saw-off one of the posts a few inches off the ground and make it a screw-in post. When we have large deliveries, I can remove the slats (simple deck screws) and I'd also unscrew the middle post and have a wider clearance in to the house). If you can avoid all that and just make a double-gate then we'd consider it (so long as it looks neat)
