I have a solid timber table that I want to make smaller, as follows: It consists of three pieces: two end pieces which include the legs, and a central board. I want one of the ends unscrewed, 20 cm cut off the central board, and then the edge refinished as before including the bevelled edge and the end piece reattached but this time so that it can be taken apart multiple times. At the moment the screws go into the wood directly. I'd like some sort of threaded metal socket to be used instead.
