Want to install deep drawers (depth in terms of height and front-to-back) under kitchen bench - for electrical appliances etc. there is already a cavity there, with a single shelf. to match our ' 60s kitchen, would like the finish to be in retro, possibly in plywood with old-fashioned retro 'handles. would also like drawers to be lockable as we have a small child.
