Repair external weatherboard

Have recently taken down the patio beams beside the house as they were all rotted. One of the beams was resting against the house and has caused damage to the external weatherboard underneath. There is a large hole and you can see some of the internal wiring behind the boards. I'm not sure if the whole beam has to be replaced, or whether the hole can be patched up.
