Permit application in response to building notice for existing verandah

We built a 20m2 pergola at the rear of the house, but have recently placed roofing onto a portion of it (less than 10m2). We then received a building notice from the council as we did not apply for a building permit.
We are looking for someone to help me with drafting, advice on any works needed to get the building into compliance (if needed) and getting the permit sorted.
