I have one wall ( a couple of metres wide) - in my little single story terrace house - which joins the fridge room to the galley kitchen to be knocked out, to make room within my galley. apparently it is load bearing but can be fixed with lintels. i think it is partly brick - and partly an old doorway which has been covered up. i had a builder come around a while ago and he said it would be an easy 1 day job - but he never came.
