House renovation, need advise about what can be done to renovate old house

We don't really need an architect, we ideally need an contractor who renovates all aspects of a house and who can also get building permits from the local council, someone who can come out and estimate the cost and say whether what we want is doable.
we have some ideas of what we'd like done to our house, and would like advise about what can actually be done. the house is in the northern suburbs, thomastown, so needs to be someone happy to come out that way.
we have no house plans available, so would prefer someone to come to the house to take a look and give their opinion and advise but also a rough estimate of how much the renovation will cost.
