An existing retaining wall (for the lower carpark) and ramp to the upper carpark have been damaged due to growth of tree roots. We have an engineering report and designs for a repair but need a suitably qualified builder to do the work.
The upper carpark allows parking for about 16 cars and the apartment building contains 50 units but the carpark is a separate structure.
The engineer's report basically calls for the ramp to be propped, tree removed (we will arrange a tree specialist to do this), ramp to be re-seated on its beams, new retaining wall to be built in front of the existing one, mortar fill between the new and existing retaining walls, a repair mortar Provide a suitable repair mortar, such as SikaGunite GP, to be used between the bottom of the ramp and the top of the new retaining wall to provide direct support and finally a suitable repair mortar, such as SikaMonoTop 620, to be applied to the deck of the ramp to the upper level car park.
There will also be some back-filling of the existing retaining wall (after removal of the tree) required and compaction of back-fill with propping in place at least 5 days after completion of the wall and the props are to remain in place for 14 days after completion of the wall.
We have engineers plans for a new retaining wall built from brick or concrete blocks although we would probably prefer to use brick (however we will consider concrete blocks if they are your preferred material).
Please contact us for a copy of the engineer's report and plans.
