1. remove the walls between the kitchen and lounge rooms in accordance with the engineer’s report.
2. primed and rust proofed steel beams will be inserted where the walls are removed. the steel beams will be 250 ub 37 or 200 ub 30 in accordance with the engineer’s report.
3. a 10mm thick steel plate will be welded to the top of beams to support the double brickwork above each beam.
4. the upper slab will be supported at all times during the removal of the walls and until the steel beams have been inserted and are secure.
5. all work will be carried out by a fully licensed and insured builder in accordance with the recommendations of the manufacturer of the steel, the building code of australia 2006 and the steel structures code.
6. the work will be carried out so that it will not affect the structural integrity of the existing building.
