Need a bricklayer for remedial brick work for a small 10sq townhouse. The brickwork is on the ground floor (all four sides of the exterior are brick but it does have a double garage with roller door on front and rear). The task is basically to make the mortar in between the bricks look as good as possible. Some of the issues with the mortar is that there are voids and holes in the mortar between the bricks which need filling and there are dags in the mortar that need scraping out. The mortar joint profile is concave. The task is as follows:
1. New mortar will need to be mixed and matched to the existing mortar. The voids and holes need to be filled.
2. There is one brick window sill (about 60cm long) that needs to be redone as the brickwork is poor and the window also needs to be realigned as it has not been placed square in the window frame.
3. The expansion joints for the ground floor area need to be caulked.
4. The brickwork also needs to be cleaned.
For this job you will above all else you will need to be an artisan with an eye for detail, experience in mix and matching mortar and cleaning bricks. Job can be done over a week day or week end.
