Jarrod was first to respond to my advertisement and came out to survey the bathroom and separate en-suite the following evening. He appeared professional and know what he was talking about - providing suggestions on their designs. However, that was it. After saying that he would get back to me within one week with quotes for the two rooms, I have heard nothing in over three weeks (not even a follow up to apologise there would be a delay). This is in contrast to the other two builders who provided quotes within a week. It seems, Jarrod was not interested in a job that would have generated 10s of thousands of dollars for his business. A follow up would have been a courteous gesture on his part. Update September 2016 - ended up proceeding with another plumber who also responded to my original advertisement. I would include the name of his business if I knew this was allowed. So far, the other family run)business's work is impeccable. What is Maschler Homes' loss turned out to be my gain...

Mark was pleasant guy who was willing to take time to listen to my needs and respond to my questions. I did not feel it was a rushed inspection. He understood what I wanted and looked at options and possible structural issues I might face during the renovations. Quote was competitive. I am hoping to renovate the bathrooms towards the end of the year and this appeared to be no problem for Mark. If all goes to my plan, I look forward to Mark undertaking the work.
