PPE is a generic, catch all phrase, which covers all items of protective gear designed to protect the wearer’s person from harm when working on either commercial building sites or in the home when renovating.
Standard PPE for a renovator should be
- Eye protection (goggles)
- Gloves
- Steel Toe Capped Work Boots
- Ear defenders when working with power tools
When working on a commercial site this list should included hi viz clothing and a hard hat. If you’re working in a dusty environment then dust masks or breathing apparatus should also be used.
