Once your tiles are well installed by a quality tiling professional, you'll need to take care of them. Here are some tile maintenance tips.
Sweep or vacuum and mop tiles regularly - using a good and appropriate cleaner that's non-abrasive. Cleaning grout is also needed and should be done with clean or baking soda. If you do it regularly you won't need to use the tiny scrubbing brushes but it the dirt builds up grout can be hard to clean (sometimes so hard it's worth getting a professional to do it).
Entryways are usually your high wear and tear areas, so laying entrance mats or rugs in doorways is usually a good idea. Also, take care that your doors are hung correctly so that they don't scrape against the tiles.
If tiles are glazed you don't need to worry about water or other liquids penetrating your tiles, but un-glazed tiles do need a sealant to increase water resistance. Investigating a non-slip coating is also worth it to increase safety.
Replacing tiles that become chipped or cracked quickly should be a priority - and it's a relatively easy job but sometimes worth getting a professional to do it and prevent it from becoming a much larger job.
One of the great tips that will help you maintain your tiles is to have some spares after your initial installation.
