Refurbishing the office - what to expect

Office space can be one of the most important things in your business - if you want yourself and your team to work efficiently, a pleasant and organised work environment is key. Perhaps your office space works, but needs a refresh. Or maybe you need more space, or want to turn a junk corner into a meeting room, or create a better space for clients to visit.

What's involved?

A qualified shoplifter will work with you to plan and execute your office refurbishment.

Step 1: Planning. Your shop fitter will sit down with you and answer these (and more) questions:

  • Communications and technology needs
  • Open space or privacy
  • Reception areas
  • Number of seats and functional areas (eg training rooms or areas, hot desks, etc)
  • Bathrooms and whether easy access for reception is needed
  • Colours, decor, paintings, branding etc
  • Whether you need new office furniture eg chairs and desks
  • Your budget

At this stage you'll need to establish whether this work can be done while the office is open or whether you'll need to close the office. Many experienced shop fitters can work in areas with minimal disruption but this will depend on how extensive the refurbishment is.

Step 2: Preliminary plans will be drawn up and you'll discuss whether they work for you and tweak small bits and pieces.

Step 3: Execution. Most shoplifters have options to work after office hours and on weekends, but you can expect some some disruption.

However big or small your office refurb is, you can find quality office refitters by posting a job here.
