It's always fun stumbling across clever inventions from the 50s and this 5th wheel is no exception. I wonder why it never found its way into modern cars?

The video below is from a 1950's newsreel (thanks Bruce for finding it!) and is also potentially an excerpt from the movie "Gizmo!". Gizmo! was dedicated to all those inventive people who tried to do the impossible and succeeded, and the video below is a fine sample of that!
However scroll down a bit further and we've also found a video of a car in Egypt that's been retrofitted with the 5th wheel! So maybe it isn't as far fetched afterall!
