Improving Customer Relations with Gmail & Rapportive

If you're like us and millions of others, your business uses Google Apps for email, calendars, document management and more. We use Google Apps because we can access our email from anywhere, on any device, without having to worry about backups, searching, spam or uptime.

Recently here at Service Central, we've been trying out Rapportive, a free plugin for Firefox, Chrome or Safari that shows you detailed information about your email contacts - right inside your Gmail or Google Apps inbox. It looks something like this:

Rapportive in Gmail

Why do we like it so much? Well, off the bat we get a more "personal" email experience by seeing who's sending us email, rather than having to read through email headers. We can also keep up to date on what our email contacts are up to (via their Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn feeds) - information we can then use to interact with them on a more personal level. Finally, Rapportive gives context to emails from new contacts (or from folks on mailing lists).

Ultimately, Rapportive helps us see our email contacts as a person we can relate to, rather than just "user@domain.com".

Sound like something that could help out your business? You can install Rapportive for free (it only takes a couple of clicks). Don't have Gmail or Google Apps? Contact us or have a chat to your account manager for help on getting started.
