Electricity Price Increases in New South Wales

NSW electricity bills are set to increase by up to 64% over the next 3 years.

The electricity price hikes in New South Wales are set to increase the average electricity bill from $577 to $918 a year by 2013. The NSW government is blaming the federal governments proposed carbon pollution reduction scheme (CPRS) and rising infrastructure costs for the price increases.

Whilst rebates are in place to help protect low-income households, the average household will be expected to bear the brunt of these dramatic price increases.
