Creative (and cost effective) marketing ideas for your trades business

Service Central is (obviously!) a great way to market your business and get loads of great new customers. But it's not the only marketing that you need to do to keep ahead of the pack.

Here are some great ideas

  • Sponsoring: Spending some money contributing to a clean up, rebuild, charity, league sports team, and more can put your name on a plaque or get your name out there to lots of new customers.
  • Raffles and auctions: Lots of fundraising activities need products and services donated. Think about what you can do - it won't be free but instead of parting with cash you'll be parting with time, and it'll also get you come community goodwill.
  • Find trial printing services: Look on the internet for printing services (usually based in Asia) that are offering free trials and then take advantage of them. It'll give you a good idea on how effective leaflets and brochures can be before you spend any money.
  • Car and ute signs: This one's obvious but your vehicle is a rolling billboard. Magnetic signs, paint, decals, etc are all great options.
  • Use blogs and newsletters: Writing stories for your blog or electronic newsletters are great for promotions. Plus, you can also blog on the Service Central blog and reach over 70 000 registered users and 100 000 unique visitors per month.
  • Alliances: Some things might be out of your reach financially, but you can also work with other businesses (hopefully with complementary services) to work together.

Marketing opportunities are only limited to the limitations of your creativity. Tips to being more creative.
