We have an open plan living, dining and kitchen above double garage and below three bedrooms. Terraced Town House, 8 years old. we have design plans from the original engineers available. In the middle of this room is a "Food Pantry" although the walls themselves are not load bearing, within one wall is a 89mm x 89mm SHS column running from floor to ceiling. This SHS suppots an I-Beam running from side to side whrere the 2nd floor joist run from center to front and rear off this I-Beam. We are looking at fully open plan design and as such require this SHS to be removed. Maybe an I-Beam from front to back intersecting and supporting the I-beam running from side to side.
