Weber BabyBQ getting too much flame - flame burning yellow

For some reason the flame is too fierce and burning yellow - reducing it to low has little to no effect. Have brushed all the vents and 'blown' out the gas tube. Now sounds like gas is escaping at the inlet to the BBQ burner, despite everything being refixed as was.
