TomTom Via280 now having trouble finding satellite & navigating.

This is a recent problem and intermittent. The device can take up to 20min to locate itself and on the go regularly loses satellite contact or miscalculates the device's position (I'm driving in the river on Coronation drive). I need to take it in for repair and the TomTom web-site is no help at all!
