Sony 36" CRT television image scrambling after several hours of operation

Television turns on and functions fine initially, but after one or two hours the image scrambles (fairly suddenly), and you see these horizontal lines which gradually scroll vertically across the screen. Have taken some pictures of this:

The scrambled display has same colour tones as the image it should be showing. Turn the tv off for a bit (hour?) and it starts working again. I'm mainly chasing a quote if it won't cost me too much, to get an idea of it it's worth salvaging. TV is around 4-5 years old, but is very large so I'm unable to deliver it to a service center (need some to check it in house, I'm in New Farm, Brisbane).
