Dishwasher (Conia brand) flips house safety switch

3yr old dishwasher sets off safety switch a few minutes after start of wash program (heating element??). No water leaks found. Plastic has crack on fascia just above manual program rotary dial- don't know if that has anything to do with it?? This machine was pretty cheap when I bought it- is it worth fixing?? Don't want to spend more than $200 otherwise will buy new one.
