Dish washer repaired

Power supply to unit is ok but the unit does not hold power when the power button is pushed in machine lights up for a few seconds then goes off

Kleenmaid/Brandt dishwasher bought 2002 won't switch on.
On switch had been playing up previously, but would eventually come on.

Timer on andi dishwasher sticks
everything seems to run fine the only problem is the machine does not cycle...
