Change dishwasher connection from hot water tap to cold water tap - simple

Replaced dishwasher recently. New dishwasher is already installed and working but it is recommended that it is connected to a cold water inlet. My old dishwasher was connected to the hot water inlet.
The current setup has a tap connected to the hot water pipe under the sink. I will need to change that to the cold water inlet or, depending on cost, simply add another tap to the cold water inlet under the sink.
