46 inch samsung lcd cant turn on - its trying though

We have a lcd samusng that wont turn on. when u press the on button on the remote, the tv makes clicking noises (and the red light flashed on the tv). then its almost like it gives up and turns itself off again. a few seconds later, it will try turn itself on again (with the same result). we would prefer you come to us, but we can take the tv to u if need be.
