Changes to the Government's GreenLoans Program
Author: Brodie NorrisBlog: Service Central
To cope with the huge demand for Home Sustainability Assessments, the Australian Government has announced changes to the GreenLoans program, creating the potential for up to 600 000 more Home Sustainability Assessments. Find out more about the changes and book your Free Home Sustainability Assessment...
In response to strong demand for the Home Sustainability Assessment component of the GreenLoans program, Peter Garrett, Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts, announced changes to the GreenLoans program. The changes will allow more households to take advantage of the popular Home Sustainability Assessment, while the less popular GreenLoan will be phased out.
Changes to the number of assessments accredited assessors can undertake in a day/week will also improve the overall quality of assessments by ensuring that assessors are not pressured for time. The changes will also relieve pressure on the call centre, making it easier for both assessors and householders to arrange assessments.
GreenLoans will be discontinued as of 22 March 2010. All GreenLoan applications have to be approved by the participating financial institution before this date to be granted. If you are a householder who has already had an assessment, but have not yet received your report, you are advised to call the GreenLoans helpline on 1300 778 451 and request that your report be given priority.
An additional 1200 assessors will also be contracted to ensure greater assessor coverage Australia-wide - particularly in currently unserviced areas.
If you have any other questions about changes to the GreenLoans Scheme, you can call the GreenLoans helpline on 1300 778 451 and of course Service Central are still offering quality Sustainability Assessments.
