I am planning to renovate my garage. The aim of the renovation is to create a space that I can use as my gym, workshop, and study, away from the wife and kids. Thats right, a man-cave. The garage has already been semi converted by the previous owner. It has one standard door, one glass liding door, 2 large windows, power points and telephone. The job will require: a. Bricking in an open space behind one of the doors (the other already has a sliding glass door installed) b. Insulating the brick walls - I am thinking of gyprock and vertical insulation batts but am open to suggestions) c. Installing a shower, vanity, and toilet (note that I have already engaged a plumber who will perform all excavation and pipework). d. Installing a wall to separate the shower / toilet from the rest of the man-cave e. Laying underlay and carpet on existing cent floor I will: a. Remove and dispose of both existing roller garage doors b. Paint the existing ceiling and the gyprock once installed c. Insulate the ceiling d. Obtain all materials and deliver to the site prior to the required use date I have a plan drawn up and ready to go.
