"Friendly staff, Certified work , 24hr on site service"

Hi Guys,

Just thought i'd send out some information to inform that since the carbon tax is now in Motion, a few changes will take place along with other general information you may not be aware of.

Some of these recent changes are as follows.

- Rises in your kw/hr electricity rate.

- Carbon tax for going over your set allowed electricity usage limit.

- Maximum allowed limit of 5w per square meterage for lighting in domestic housing in new or altered installations.   (move toward LED or energy saver lighting as new replacement for halogen)

- Safety switches required on rented out tenant properties.

- Mandatory smoke alarms on most rented out tenant properties.   (Check with local council on requirements if needed)

- mandatory 35-50w halogen downlights to be fully enclosed with approved heat shield. (safety risk)

Renewable energy solutions are becoming increasingly important not only of the environmental benifits, but also now the ever increasing cost of our electricity prices due to the carbon tax and new laws implemented.

Here are some of the new energy efficent options you could opt for if you don't already have it installed.

- Solar PV generation system.

- Solar hot water booster.

- Gas hot water as opposed to old electric hot water heating. (big energy user)

- Gas appliances as opposed to electric cooktops etc.

- Energy efficient star rated appliances (instead of using 15year old fridge).

- Energy efficient lighting. (LED lighting or energysaver compact flourescents)

- Energy 24hr timers on power circuits to reduce standby electricity.

- Energy 24hr digital monitors with range of options to monitor & reduce energy usage.

- Installation of ceiling fans with natural cooling instead of conventional air-conditioning.

- Natural lighting with use of skylights across areas of house.

- Double glazed windows for added insulation and promotion of natural heating & cooling of premises.

- Self motion air extractors in roofing for natural cooling of premises. (whirly birds are term for them)

- source Off peak options & times with electricity retailer to maximise high energy usage during off peak times generally  from 11pm-7am.

- Rain water tanks as alternative garden watering supply.

If you would like more information or would like to implement any of these technologies please feel free to contact me at

BD Electrics would like to thank you for taking the time to read this.

Cheers

Kind regards

Bao
