Those floating staircases look great! But aren't they a bit dangerous? I'd suspect that Australian staircase building standards would require a handrail?

They absolutely would.

"Every stairway shall be provided with at least one handrail which shall have a smooth continuous top surface throughout the length of each stairway flight."
