This week we had the absolute privilege of meeting Milton Howard, the winner of Service Central's iPad competition. Milton had the closest guess to the time and date that the 300,000th job was posted with Service Central. He is a great guy, a genuinely nice person, and it was our pleasure to hand over a brand new iPad to him.
Name: Milton Howard
Suburb: Leopold, Victoria.
Guess: 18th of July, 2012 at 20:03 in the evening. Milton was just 469 second away from the exact time.
Actual time of the 300,000th job on Service Central: Wednesday the 18th of July, 2012, at exactly 19:55 and eleven seconds
How did you come up with your guess? Are you a mathematical genius?
Whilst Milton does work for the CSIRO, he assures us he isn’t a mathematical genius. Instead he has been an avid follower of Service Central ever since posting his first job requests with us years ago, and saw the competition promoted in our newsletters.
Were you tracking the jobs closely? Did you know that you were so close to the exact time of the 300,000th job?
We were following the facebook, and we updated as it got closer. The whole family got involved, all giving their suggestions as to which time is a guess.
Was it a shock when you got the call to let you know that you were the winner? Are you a natural born winner, or was this a first?
It was a big surprise. I was taken back, absolutely stoked.
Any ideas on what you will use your brand new iPad for?
It's for me. It will be good to use when watching TV, might be good to use to take to work too. I have an Apple iPhone 4S and love it. I hope the iPad is just as good.
A little about Service Central?
How did you find out about Service Central?
Basically we had a couple of little jobs at home and it was really hard to get people to quote not even our own nephew. Might have heard it on the radio on Bay FM in Geelong and it worked perfectly.
Did you post any job requests with Service Central?
Yes we’ve used Service Central twice in fact.
How did you go? Did you find the right people for your job(s)? Did you end up using them?
It was fantastic. We had struggled to find people to do these small jobs for us. We’d been ringing around and couldn’t find anyone, then we used Service Central and not only found someone but they did a good job too.
Were you happy with the process?
Would you recommend Service Central to others?
Yes, in fact I’ve been recommending Service Central to the guys at work. Even last month someone asked me how to find good tradies and I told them to use Service Central.
Do you read Service Central’s Friday Funnies? What do you think?
We love the Friday Funnies. Some of them are classics. Our kids wonder what we're doing on YouTube, and we have to tell them that it's just Service Central's Friday Funnies. It drags you in, you go there for the joke and then look at what other articles are on the site.
A Big Thank You!
The whole team at Service Central would like to thank everyone who entered our 300,000th job competition. You all made it a very special occassion, and helped us celebrate this major milestone in style.
If you have any more work that needs doing around the office, simply post your job request with Service Central, and we will get that bit closer to celebrating our 400,000th job.
